2003 PEACE FESTIVAL OFERS HOLIDAY SHOPPING OPPORTUNITIES SATURDAY, NOV. 22

Oklahoma City’s 15th “Fall Peace Festival” will take place Saturday, November 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the downtown Civic Center Music Hall’s “Hall
of Mirrors.” Admission to the Festival is free.

Anne Murray of The Peace House said there will be 60 booths and tables with information highlighting local nonprofit and other groups working for social justice, human rights, environmental protection and peace.

“The Festival has become a holiday shopping opportunity benefitting good causes,” Murray said. Visitors will find books, calendars, weavings,
pottery, clothing, sculpture, and carving from Latin America, Africa and Eastern Europe.

Local artisans will display hand-made jewelry, crafts, prints, and quilting. In addition, many groups offer T-shirts, posters, buttons,
bumper-stickers, newsletters, and memberships.

The purpose of the Peace Festival is to showcase and build public support for Oklahoma organizations working for social justice, human service, and
environmental protection, Murray said. “The Peace Festival is a place where folks can learn about and support organizations doing this work across the
state.”

Organizations represented at the festival include groups like Amnesty International, Herland Sister Resources, United Nations Association, World
Neighbors, NAACP, Vegetarians of Oklahoma City, Esperanza en Accion, Department of Environmental Quality, the AFL-CIO, and the Oklahoma County Democratic Party
